Short Story

Deep Water Challenges!

ROV’s are important pieces of equipment that help us learn about the populations in deep water. Unfortunately, it is not easy getting to these depths and it is expensive. You have the cost and maintenance of the drone equipment, boats, fuel, time, and a whole lot more that goes into the study of the deeper water and populations. It is very important in the lionfish fight and we need your help. Please give – even if it’s just a little bit – it will help.

Campaign Story

ROV's are important pieces of equipment that help us learn about the populations in deep water. Lionfish have been spotted in depths of 1,000 feet! If we are going to control the populations of these invasive species we need more data than just the sizes and locations of our shallow waters. Unfortunately, it is not easy getting to these depths and it is expensive. You have the cost and maintenance of the drone equipment, boats, fuel, time, and a whole lot more that goes into the study of the deeper water and populations.

Underwater drones are essential for researching lionfish populations in depths deeper than humans can safely dive. Without knowing the population densities, conditions, temperatures, currents and more, we will not know how to control this invasive and destructive species! Help us learn more about the lionfish populations that are in the uncharted depths of our oceans.

We rely on divers, boat operators and people like you to donate to our cause. We use money raised for better equipment, fuel, processing the information and videos, marketing the findings and more. The fear is that the larger breeding populations are in the deeper water. Once we identify locations and populations we can start to create some protocols to deal with the findings. Please consider donating to our cause to help control the lionfish population. Any donation is better than no donation. It will be put to great use in this fight.

Thank you!
