Hola!
I am Lisette, a diver since 10 yrs old, a lionfish huntress since 2010.
I got addicted to the hunting and decided to change my life in order to be able to go out for catching Lionfish whenever I want to – and so I did.
In 2012 I started working part time and selling Lionfish to restaurants.
In 2016 I started making and selling LF jewelry.
In 2018 I opened my own Lionfish studio/store.
In 2021 I opened Lionfish & Mangoes, a food truck with guess what…
And in 2022 I closed the store and food truck and combined them into one place where Passion meets Food & Fashion! One place where people can sell their fish – 24/7 and all sizes. Where we make the jewelry, where people can learn about Lionfish, buy jewelry and try Lionfish six days a week prepared lionfish at least 6 different ways!
What do you like about lionfish hunting?
On shore my thoughts go everywhere, underwater I am at peace.
I am focused, you have to be focused, cause one mistake can turn out pretty bad for you.
It is my meditation – it is me, the reef, my breathing and the Lionfish.
And in the meantime you’re controlling Lionfish population – making native fish and people happier 🙂
What do you like about the lionfish community?
I love that without really knowing each other you’re connected. We share the same passion and you know what they are talking about when posting something on the socials.
What I think is super funny, is that there’s also a part of competition within the community. We all have or had that thing with:’ do not share your favorite hunting spot.’ Or when you see a picture of a good catch that feeling of envy – you are happy for the hunter but deep inside you wished it were you.
Haha! The people who say they do not have or had that feeling, they are lying 😉
Oh – and Scott is crazy!! And I love it!
